On Sunday 6 February 2022 the Department of Basic Education issued new consolidated directions with regards to the measures for the resumption of full-time daily attendance as from Monday 7 February 2022. All primary, secondary and special schools, along with educators, non-teaching staff, and learners as well as all officials are to return to full-time attendance. The one-meter physical distancing rule in schools will also no longer apply, which marks an end to rotation and a return to the traditional timetable. No learners will be exempted from full-time learning and all COVID-19 protocol must still be adhered to, besides the one-meter physical distancing and the isolation period which has now changed to seven days, only for positive symptomatic cases.
