On Tuesday, 9 September 2025, the Learning Empowerment Network (LEN), a non-profit organisation based in Atlantis, launched their collaboration with the Western Cape Government Mobility Services to assist unemployed people from Atlantis and surrounding areas.
The campaign, dubbed “Get You to Work,” offers unemployed individuals an opportunity to obtain a free travel voucher to attend job interviews with the Golden Arrow Bus Service (GABS). Each registered beneficiary receives six free trips to help them get to work. The official launch took place at the Robinvale Sportsfield. LEN CEO, Sunita Henkeman, opened the event and introduced the programme. The highlight of the day came when the Provincial Minister of Mobility, Isaac Sileku, arrived. He interacted with the beneficiaries, local councillors, and Operations Manager of LEN, Garnett Botman, to discuss the event and the reason behind the campaign. Botman said another campaign will soon be launched in Atlantis and Mamre to provide more opportunities for others.
